D. Bruce Lockerbie
Interim Head of School
In April 2013, D. Bruce Lockerbie was selected as Fort Bend Christian Academy's Interim Head of School.
After 35 years of teaching and administering, ending in 1991, D. Bruce Lockerbie now leads a team of consultants called PAIDEIA, Inc. [ “pie-day-ah” ], working with schools, colleges, universities, and seminaries, as well as churches, helping agencies, and other institutions.
Born in Canada, Bruce Lockerbie received degrees in English and American Studies from New York University. He has been awarded honorary degrees by Eastern University and Taylor University.
After a year as English instructor and track coach at Wheaton College, Lockerbie served on the faculty of The Stony Brook School, 1957-1991. His work with college-preparatory students included teaching English and Bible, while serving as chairman of the English and Fine Arts departments, then as Dean of Faculty. Upon retiring from The Stony Brook School, he held the appointment of Thomas F. Staley Foundation Scholar-in-Residence.
Lockerbie is author, co-author, or editor of forty books whose topics range broadly: aesthetics, biography, literary and social criticism, history, education, family living, popular theology, as well as textbooks. Recent titles are A Passion for Learning: A History of Christian Thought on Education, From Candy Sales to Committed Donors, Dismissing God: Modern Writers= Struggle against Religion, The Timeless Moment: Creativity and the Christian Faith, Thinking-and-Acting Like a Christian, and A Christian Paideia: The Habitual Vision of Greatness.
In addition to essays and reviews, Lockerbie contributes to research projects and encyclopedias, such as “Protestant Education” for Encyclopedia of Educational Research and “Christian Education” for the Twentieth Century Encyclopedia of Religious Knowledge, among others.
Lockerbie is editor of periodicals called The PAIDEIA Letter and The PAIDEIA Report.
A frequent lecturer at schools, college, universities, and seminaries, Lockerbie has also held endowed lectureships at the Chautauqua Institution, Baylor University, Denver Seminary, Mississippi College, Western Conservative Baptist Seminary, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and Tyndale University and Seminary. As a consultant, Lockerbie has worked across the USA, Canada, Jamaica, Barbados, St. Kitts and Nevis, Cayman Islands, Ecuador, Great Britain, France, Switzerland, Germany, Greece, Israel, Kenya, Ethiopia, India, Bangladesh, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Russia, and Uzbekistan.
Married in 1956, Bruce and Lory Lockerbie have two sons and a daughter. The Lockerbies are active in the ministry of the Caroline Church of Brookhaven, an evangelical Anglican parish.
A one-time world-ranked middle-distance runner for New York University and the New York Athletic Club, Lockerbie now concentrates on improving his skills as a left-handed golfer. A hole-in-one has already won him a new car, but he's not ready for the PGA tour.

Ron Bell, M.A.
Middle School Principal
Ron Bell became the Middle School Principal of Fort Bend Christian Academy in July 1997. Ron earned a Master of Arts degree in Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary and an undergraduate degree in Christian Education from Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee. Mr. Bell has worked in education for over twenty years, serving as a fourth grade teacher, high school Bible teacher, elementary principal, and high school principal. His love, though, is working with middle school students.
Ron and his wife, Pam, who is one of FBCA’s high school/middle school art teachers, have three daughters who are all graduates of FBCA. Ron and Pam are members at River Pointe Church.

David Hook, M.Ed., Ed.D.
High School Principal
Dr. Hook joined FBCA in 2002 as the high school principal following 20 years with the Alief School District. His experience includes middle school teaching and administrative work at an alternative disciplinary campus and a large urban high school. He earned his undergraduate degree from Ball State University, his Master’s degree from the University of Houston-Victoria, and a Doctorate in Educational Supervision and Leadership from Texas A & M University in College Station.
Currently, David teaches graduate level courses at two local universities and enjoys family, friends, and photography. He and his wife, Tami, have two children, a 2009 FBCA graduate and a current FBCA high school student.

Linda Howell, CFRE
Director of Development
Linda Howell has served as Director of Development and Alumni Relations at FBCA since 2004. She has been actively involved with our school in numerous capacities over the past 15 years, including serving as a former member of the FBCA Board of Trustees and a school volunteer.
Linda received a BFA from the University of Texas at Austin and received Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credentials for tenure in the profession, education, demonstrated fundraising achievement and a commitment to service to not-for-profit organizations. She has completed numerous development courses and training, including the Comprehensive Fund Development Certificate Program from Rice University. She is a graduate of the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce Leadership Forum and the Leadership Excellence for Nonprofits Program, and is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).
Mrs. Howell worked with the media in Fort Bend County for a number of years as the Society Editor for the Fort Bend Star and the Sun newspaper. She founded the Fort Bend County Ten Best Dressed Women and the Fort Bend Teen Board.
Married to Chuck Howell, a Registered Professional Engineer, they have three children and six grandchildren. Their youngest, Catherine, is a 2007 FBCA graduate, and a 2011 graduate of Texas A&M University. The family attends Lakewood Church in Houston.

Pam Jacobsen
Director of Public Relations
Pam became actively involved with a very young FBCA when her son began first grade in 1991. She served in a variety of volunteer positions and in 1993 joined the staff of FBCA as the Director of Development and Public Relations. During her first three years of employment, the school doubled its enrollment twice and embarked on its very first capital campaign! God has been so faithful to our school and Pam is a first-hand witness to His work in building our North and South campuses.
Mrs. Jacobsen’s undergraduate degree is in Criminology from Sam Houston State University. She completed coursework in human resources management and worked for 12 years for a major Houston homebuilder in HR. Pam is a graduate of the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce Leadership Forum and the Leadership Excellence for Nonprofits Program. She and her husband, Keith, are active in several non-profit groups and are members of Sugar Creek Baptist Church. They are the proud parents of two FBCA graduates, Ty in 2003, and Brett, Class of 2006.

Julia Janz, M.Ed., Ph.D.
Curriculum Specialist
Julia Janz has been FBCA’s curriculum specialist since 2006. She received her A.S. in surgical technology from Oklahoma City Junior College, B.S. in biology and history from Houston Baptist University, M.Ed. in science education from the University of Houston, Ph.D. in education from Capella University. Julia’s experience includes teaching in Christian and public schools, adult GED, workforce development, and corporate training. She holds Texas state teaching certificates in biology, history, social studies, elementary self-contained, and generalist, as well as an all levels principal certificate from A.C.S.I. Currently, Julia is an adjunct professor in education for LeTourneau University.

Elementary Principal
Margie Meyer became the elementary principal in August, 2000, having previously served as the assistant principal for one year and a third grade teacher for 6 years. She earned her Master of Education degree from Houston Baptist University and Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Texas. Miss Meyer has 22 years of experience in education.
Margie is a native Houstonian and has lived in the Houston area for most of her life. She is a member of River Pointe Community Church.
