FBCA Honors Four Student-Athletes for College Commitments
Fort Bend Christian Academy proudly celebrated four outstanding student-athletes during its National Letter of Intent Signing Day on April 23. This special ceremony marked a significant milestone in the lives of these seniors as they committed to continuing their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level.
“These student-athletes exemplify the hard work, perseverance and Christ-centered character we aim to instill in all our students,” said FBCA Director of Athletics Richard Lazarou. “Their commitment to excellence both on and off the field is something our entire community celebrates.”
Noah Benny (Basketball) signed with Sam Houston State University (Division I, Conference USA). Noah’s four-year FBCA career included top honors such as VYPE Private School Player of the Year, 2-time First Team All-District, and FBCA Offensive MVP. His favorite memory was representing the U.S. in the Manila Live International Basketball Tournament with Fil-Am Nation, while his favorite FBCA moment was defeating LSA during his junior year. He plans to major in Health Sciences and Pre-Physical Therapy.
Sydney Ferguson (Soccer) committed to St. Thomas University (Division III, SCAC). A key contributor to FBCA’s TAPPS Final Four run, Sydney earned TAPPS Midfielder of the Year, All-State Honorable Mention, and Player of the Year honors. Her favorite memory was reaching the national finals with her club team and finishing as runners-up, and at FBCA, she cherished the experience of advancing to the State Final Four. She will study Business Marketing.
Lauren Kinningham (Cheer) signed with Colorado School of Mines to pursue a degree in Engineering. A competitive cheerleader with Apex and FBCA MVP, Lauren placed first at NCA and second at Summit. Her favorite memory was cheering at the last football game of the season, a moment filled with emotion and team spirit.
Jackson Woolley (Baseball) committed to Millsaps College (Division III, SAA). Jackson, FBCA’s Pitcher of the Year, was a 3-year varsity starter and appeared in 10 Perfect Game All-Tournament Teams. His favorite moment in baseball was being a finalist at the PG Fall National Championship in Arizona, and his most memorable FBCA moment was sweeping LSA during his sophomore season. He plans to study Business.
Each student-athlete was recognized alongside their families as they reflected on their accomplishments and shared gratitude for those who supported them. The ceremony concluded with the signing of their official letters of intent.
Congratulations, Eagles! We are proud of your achievements and can’t wait to see where your next chapter takes you.
