Gabby Anthony Selected for Prestigious Broadway Opportunity

While attending the Junior Theater Festival (JTF) Atlanta this year, sophomore Gabby Anthony (Honors Theatre Production) auditioned for a special project hosted by iTheatrics, the NYC-based organization that produces JTF. Gabby's audition included performing choreography and vocal music for a panel of professional choreographers, including Broadway Junior  Resident Choreographer Steven G. Kennedy. Gabby received a callback during the festival and was notified in March that she was selected among an auditioning group of over 400 students across the nation to participate in a Broadway Junior video shoot this summer in New York City, a prestigious honor that includes getting to work alongside Broadway-professional directors and choreographers, held at Ripley-Grier Studios and the 52nd Street Project, rehearsal and film studios where Broadway shows are rehearsed and workshopped.

“It truly means the world! God puts passions in all of our hearts and I'm so grateful for this opportunity to start following mine,” Gabby Anthony said.  “I'm also so thankful that he put Mrs. Patterson in my life to help guide and teach me, I couldn’t have done it without her!”

“It has been such a fantastic couple of years working with Gabby in our US performing arts. She's been a standout performer since middle school, but over the past two years she's proven herself a leader within our program: growing from featured performer and Dance Captain roles to, most recently, serving as Student Assistant Choreographer for our spring musical, Newsies,” Sarah Patterson, Fine Arts Theater.  “I was thrilled that Gabby could represent our school at the iTheatrics Choreography Video Auditions at the Junior Theater Festival 2024 in Atlanta. When she was selected for a callback, I knew if anyone could beat the odds and make it all the way to New York, it would be Gabby. And she did! She is one talented young lady with a heart of gold, and I can't wait for her to have this elite experience this summer.”

Congratulations Gabby on this tremendous accomplishment!
