Thirteen FBCA Athletes Sign to Play Collegiate Athletics - April 2026

Fort Bend Christian Academy proudly celebrated National Signing Day on April 15, recognizing the outstanding achievements of thirteen exceptional Upper School student-athletes as they officially committed to competing in collegiate athletics. The event highlighted the hard work, dedication, and faith that have propelled these young athletes to success both on and off the field.

National Signing Day is a significant moment for student-athletes across the country as they formally commit to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. This day marks the culmination of years of training, competition, and perseverance. It also serves as an opportunity to celebrate the partnerships between athletes, their families, coaches, and schools that make these achievements possible.

Brenden Lusk - Baseball

Brenden, accompanied by his parents, Frank and Lauren Lusk, and his brother Dylan, signed with Angelina College, Ju-Co Region 14 Texas Eastern Conference. Brenden has been playing baseball for 15 years, and this is his 7th year playing with FBCA. He also plays on the Marucci Elite select baseball team. Brenden’s accolades include: 2024 Defensive MVP, 2025 All-District Honorable Mention, 2025 Team MVP. Brenden would like to thank his family for being his foundation and for teaching him that persistence beats doubt, and failure shapes who you’re meant to become. He is grateful to his coaches for pushing him mentally, and most importantly, he thanks God for keeping his identity rooted in Christ, and not his sport. Brenden plans to major in Construction Management with a minor in Finance. His favorite bible verse is Ecclesiastes 3:11, which reminds him that everything he went through led up to this, and it all happened exactly when it was supposed to.

 

Landon McKenna - Baseball

Landon, accompanied by his parents, Traci and Rory McKenna, and his brother, Logan, signed with Trinity University, Division 3 SAA Conference. Landon has been playing baseball for 14 years, and this is his 4th year playing for FBCA. He also plays on the Marucci Elite Texas/Blue Jays Scout baseball team. Landon’s accolades include: 2x Rawlings Regional All-American Honorable Mention, Rawlings Regional All-American 2nd Team, 1st Team All-District, All-state Honorable Mention, Ranked Top 500 Nationally, Top 25 Private School Players in Texas. Landon would like to thank his parents for the countless time and effort they’ve spent helping him accomplish his dreams, his brother for his constructive feedback and grandparents for always supporting him and never missing a game. He plans to major in Finance at Trinity. His favorite bible verse is Mark 9:23 because it reminds him that all things are possible.

 

Jake Pellegrino - Baseball

Jake, accompanied by his parents, Cathy and Sean Pellegrino, his grandma Marie Fuller, and his uncles Tom and Mike Fuller, signed with Millsap College, Division 3 SAA Conference. He has been playing baseball for 13 years, and this is his 3rd year playing for FBCA. Jake’s accolades include: 2023 Team Captain and Top Prospect at the Future All-Stars Baseball Development Academy. Jake would like to thank GOD and his family, friends, coaches and teammates for always pushing him and supporting him. He plans to major in Business or Accounting. His favorite bible verse is Philippians 4:13. It encourages him that with his trust in God, he can face anything.

 

Zane Atkinson - Baseball

Zane, accompanied by his parents, Mark and Marissa Atkinson, and his brother Connor, signed with Coastal Bend College, NJCAA Region 14 conference. He has been playing baseball for 12 years, and this is his 3rd year playing for FBCA. He also plays on the Future Stars Series. Zane’s accolades include: Offensive MVP and 2nd Team All-District. He would like to thank GOD and his mom for pushing him to be his best, his dad for waking him up for early workouts, and his brother for helping him with his mental game. He’d also like to thank Coach Brian Williams for remaining by his side and helping him through all the adversity throughout his career. He plans to major in Business. His favorite bible verse is: Philippians 4:13, because it helps him get through tough times. 

 

Dylan Nunn - Basketball

Dylan, accompanied by his parents, David and Dwan Nunn, signed with Tuskegee University, Division 2 SIAC Conference. He has been playing basketball for 13 years, and this is his 2nd year playing for FBCA. He also plays on the Houston Top Guns AAU Team. Dylan’s accolades include: 2x Awty Varsity Basketball MVP, 2x SPC All-Conference, 2x TAPPS First Team All-District, 2x TAPPS Second Team All-State, achieved 1,000 career points his junior year, 2026 TAPPS All-State Academic Team. Dylan would like to thank his parents for all the sacrifices they have made throughout his journey, and always believing in him. He wants to thank his coaches for pushing him to grow, holding him accountable and helping him become a better player and person. He plans to major in Supply Chain Management.  His favorite bible verse is Romans 8:28, because it reminds him that God is always working things out for good even when we don’t understand it.

 

Sean Jimmy-Ducksworth - Basketball

Sean, accompanied by his mom, Temisan Ducksworth, and his brothers, Ivan and Shane, signed with West Texas A&M University, Division 2 Lone Star Conference. He has been playing basketball for 10 years, and this is his 7th year playing for FBCA. He also plays for the TJ Ford AAU Team. Sean’s accolades include: TABC All-State, 3x Team MVP and First Team All-District, 2x First Team All-State. Sean would like to thank God for allowing him to compete in this sport, and all the coaches, trainers and friends he’s had over the years. He wants to thank his family, especially his mom, for everything she does. He wants to thank his twin brother, Shane, his brother, Ivan, and Uncle Tad for mentoring him on and off the court. And to his TJ Ford family for the constant support. His favorite bible verse is Philippians 4:13, because it reminds him that with Christ he cannot fail.

 

Mario Gonzalez - Football

Mario, accompanied by his mom, Charleen, his step-dad Donny, and his brother Gio, signed with Southwestern University, Division 3 SAA Conference. He has been playing football for 5 years, and this is his 4th year playing for FBCA. Mario’s accolades include: 2024 First Team All-District and First Team All-State, 2024 All-Greater Houston Team and All-VYPE Team, 2025 Second Team All-District Kicker/Punter, Greater Houston Private School Special Team Finalist. Mario would like to thank his mom and step-dad for believing in him, and paying for him to go to camps. He wants to thank his kicking coaches, Coaches Robby and Cody for helping him with his form and college recruiting. He wants to thank FBCA coaches for making him the starter his junior year, and trusting him in clutch situations. He plans to major in Business or Finance.  His favorite bible verse is Psalm 18:32, which reminds him where his strength comes from.

 

Aaron Howe - Football

Aaron, accompanied by his parents, Anette and Andrew Howe, signed with Avila University, NAIA KCA Conference. He has been playing football for 3 years, and this is his 1st year playing for FBCA. Aaron would like to thank his family for all their support throughout the years. He would like to thank his grandma, Mary Cecilia, for all she did for him. He plans to major in Business Finance. His favorite bible verse is John 3:16.

 

Randy Clark - Golf

Randy, accompanied by his parents, Randon and Lindsay Clark, signed with Chowan University, Division 2 Conference of Carolinas. He has been playing golf for 3 years, and this is his 3rd year playing for FBCA. Randy would like to thank God for allowing him to compete in this sport, and the opportunity to glorify him in everything he does. He would like to thank his parents for pushing him to be his best every day and supporting him in whatever sport he plays - like when he switched to golf after playing baseball for his whole life. He wants to thank his coach, Tommy O’Brien for believing in and supporting him since day one. Randy earned the FBCA Heart of an Eagle award last year. He plans to major in Business Administration.  His favorite bible verse is 2nd Samuel 23:2, because it reminds him that God is using his voice for a purpose everywhere he goes.

 

Charlie Molloy - Track

Charlie, accompanied by his parents Jo and Tad Molloy, signed with Dallas Baptist University, Division 2 Lone Star Conference. He has been competing in track and field for 8 years and is a lifer at FBCA. Charlie’s accolades include: 2x District champion long-jump, District bronze medal 100 m and gold medal 4x100, Regional gold medal 4x100 and long jump, Regional silver medal 4x100, State silver medal long jump, 2024 State team runner-up, 2023 and 2025 state team champion. Charlie would like to thank God for his success and his losses and for the refinement of his character. He wants to thank his mom, grandparents, and siblings for their ongoing care and support. To all of his coaches, thanks for pushing him to be the best version of himself. He thanks Sean Jimmy-Ducksworth and his dad for being by his side the entire time. His favorite bible verse is Psalm 23:4 because being destined to win comes with the valley. 

 

Kennesha Nabors - Track

Kennesha, accompanied by her parents Lakita and Jermaine Sanders, signed with Texas Southern University, Division 1 SWAC Conference. She has been competing in track and field for 7 years, and this is her 7th year throwing for FBCA. Kennesha’s accolades include: Rising Star Award Recipient (2022), Shot-put District Champion 2024, TAPPS 5A State Team Runner Up 2024, Outstanding Field Event Award (2024), TAPPS 5A District Regional, and State Team Champion, Outstanding Field Event Award (2025), TAPPS 5A 1st Team All District 2025, TAPPS 5A All State 2025, TAPPS 5A Academic All State 2025, 3x FBCA record holder for Shot-put, and Bronze Medal at Carl Lewis Invitational 2026. Kennesha would like to thank God, because without Him none of this would be possible. She wants to thank her parents for pushing and believing in her. She wants to thank her coaches for continuously pushing her to be great, and her friends for making her laugh in the moments she needed it the most. She plans to major in Biomedical Science. Her favorite bible verse is Matthew 11:28; it reminds her that the Lord is always on her side and carrying the load alongside her.

 

Brooke Perry - Track

Brooke, accompanied by her parents, Lagatha and André Perry, signed with the University of Texas at Arlington, Division 1 WAC Conference. She has been running track for 10 years, and this is her 4th year running for FBCA. She also competes with Track Houston Youth Track Club. Brooke’s accolades include: 10x USATF All-American, 800M FBCA record holder, 3x 4X400M State Champion, 2023 Carl Lewis Invitational 4x400m relay champ and meet record holder, 2023 Texas Relays 4x400m relay champ and meet record holder, 2023 TAPPS 5A State Team Champion, 2024 4x400m relay Junior Olympic National Champion,  2024 TAPPS 5A State Team Champion and All-American 4x800m relay, 2025 TAPPS 5A State Team Runner Up and All-American 4x800m relay. Brooke would like to first and foremost thank God for guiding her path and blessing her through every challenge. She’s incredibly grateful to her family, friends, and coaches for their constant love, support, and belief in her, which has shaped her into who she is today. To her late brother, Montrey, Brooke states that she will carry you with her always and strive to make you proud every day. She plans to pursue Pre-Physical Therapy. Her favorite bible verse is Acts 20:24, because it reminds her that everything around her is irrelevant unless she fulfills her task of testifying God’s love for her.

 

Skye Shell - Track

Skye, accompanied by her parents, Shunda and Miguel Shell, and her brother, AJ., signed with Texas Southern University, Division 1 Swack Conference. She has been running track for 8 years, and this is her 4th year running for FBCA. She also competes for AfterBurners Track Club. Skye’s accolades include: 2023 District, Regional, & State Champion, 2024 District, Regional, & State Champion, 2025 District Champ, Regional Champ, & State Runner-up Texas Relays 4x400, & Runner-up Texas Relays 4x200, 2time All American with Junior Olympics 4 time Academic All State. Skye would like to thank Coach Minor for believing in her even when she didn’t believe in herself. To her family, thank you for trusting the process and making countless sacrifices to put her in this position. To her teammates and coaches, thank you for pushing her daily and most importantly, she would like to thank God for the ability to compete in this sport. She plans to major in Biology and pursue becoming a dentist specializing in orthodontics.  Her favorite bible verse is Ecclesiastes 3:11, because it reminds her that everything she’s gone through has led up to this, and it all happened exactly when it was supposed to.
