Fort Bend Christian Academy (FBCA) proudly celebrated National Signing Day, recognizing the outstanding achievements of three exceptional Upper School student-athletes as they officially committed to competing in collegiate athletics. The event highlighted the hard work, dedication, and faith that have propelled these young athletes to success both on and off the field.

National Signing Day (November 13) is a significant moment for student-athletes across the country as they formally commit to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. This day marks the culmination of years of training, competition, and perseverance. It also serves as an opportunity to celebrate the partnerships between athletes, their families, coaches, and schools that make these achievements possible. Eli Walker Campbell and Ruth Ochelli signed on National Signing Day. Bayleigh Minor signed on December 5.

Bayleigh Minor — Track and Field

Bayleigh Minor, accompanied by her parents Claudia and Deon Minor and her brother Bradley, signed to continue her illustrious track career at the University of Texas. A multi-sport athlete, Bayleigh has excelled in volleyball and track, earning numerous accolades. Her track achievements include winning the USATF National Junior Olympic Championship in the 400 meters and setting TAPPS state records in the Triple Jump, 400 meters, and 4x100 relays.

During her time at FBCA, Bayleigh contributed to the school’s dominance in TAPPS competitions, helping her team secure multiple District, Regional, and State championships. With honors such as being named the TAPPS 5A Private School Female Athlete of the Year and a 21-time Junior Olympics All-American, Bayleigh’s commitment to excellence has been unparalleled. Her favorite Bible verse, Luke 1:45, serves as a guiding principle in her life: “Blessed is she who has believed that the LORD would fulfill his promises to her.”

Eli Walker Campbell — Golf

Eli Walker Campbell, joined by his parents Elissa and Steve Campbell and his brother Stephen, signed to play golf at the University of Oklahoma. A four-year golfer at FBCA, Eli’s standout moments include sinking the winning putt to secure the 2024 TAPPS 5A State Championship. His achievements also include being a three-time All-District, All-Regional, and All-State honoree, as well as earning finalist recognition for the USA Today High School Golfer of the Year.

Ranked 71st among junior golfers worldwide, Eli attributes his success to his faith, family, and coaches, expressing gratitude for their unwavering support. He plans to pursue a degree in Business Finance, with aspirations of winning a national championship and eventually joining the PGA Tour. Eli’s favorite Bible verse, Romans 8:28, reflects his outlook: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Ruth Ochelli — Volleyball

Ruth Ochelli, accompanied by her parents Belema and Siben Ochelli, her brothers, grandmother, and aunt, signed to play volleyball at Bryant University. A standout athlete in her two years at FBCA, Ruth has garnered numerous accolades, including First Team All-District, Second Team All-State, and recognition on the All-VYPE Private School Volleyball Team. She was also named Co-Offensive Player of the Year at FBCA.

Ruth’s favorite memories include competing at Nationals with her club volleyball team and advancing to the TAPPS State tournament with FBCA. Grateful for the support of her family, coaches, and teammates, Ruth plans to major in Kinesiology with a minor in Business. Her favorite Bible verse, Psalms 62:1, underscores her faith: “Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him.”

The achievements of Bayleigh Minor, Eli Walker Campbell, and Ruth Ochelli exemplify FBCA’s commitment to fostering excellence in academics, athletics, and faith. “We are incredibly proud of these athletes and the impact they have made on our school community,” said FBCA Director of Athletics, Richard Lazarou. “Their dedication, leadership, and faith are an inspiration to us all, and we are excited to watch them shine in this next chapter of their athletic journey.”
