FRESHMAN RETREAT
Save the date for Freshman Retreat! On Monday and Tuesday, August 18-19, the Class of 2029 will travel together from FBCA to Stoney Creek Ranch in New Ulm, Texas, for Freshman Retreat. Led by Upper School leadership and teachers, as well as our Student Leadership Team, the freshmen will spend two days getting to know one another, team building, bonding, and preparing for the school year. More information will be available at Orientation.
ORIENTATION
9th Grade and New Student Orientation will be Monday, August 11, from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. During Orientation, all new-to-Upper School students and parents will be introduced to life at the Upper School of FBCA. At this time, students will receive their class schedule, access their assigned locker, and interact with Student Eagle Ambassadors and Student Leadership Team. Students then will go off campus for team building activities. Parents will have an information session with Q&A as well. More detailed information will be emailed in late July.

If you have any questions about course selections, please email Graham Traylor, Director of College Counseling.
SCHOOL CALENDAR
School begins Wednesday, August 13. The 2025-2026 Instructional Calendar can be found on the website under Quick Links<Calendar. An email about next year’s daily schedule is forthcoming and will contain information about drop-off times, beginning and end of the school day and more.
SCHOOL SUPPLIES
Students should come prepared with basic school supplies such as paper, pens, pencils, and notebooks. Each teacher will inform the students of necessary class-specific supplies on the first day of class (i.e. notecards, 3 subject spiral, etc.). Graphing Calculators (TI-84) are required for all Upper School math classes.
STUDENT PARKING
Beginning in the 2025-2026 school year, students will be assigned parking. Seniors and juniors will park at the Upper School campus and behind the Annex. Sophomores and freshmen will be allowed to park at the Field House only, and not in the Upper School and/or Annex parking lots. Seniors will be allowed to paint a parking spot on August 5th. The google form to request a parking spot will go out July 14th for seniors, July 15th for juniors and July 16th for sophomores. It will be sent to the parent email on file. If you have any questions, please contact Jocelyn Muckelroy.
SUMMER READING
Every English class requires summer reading, and other classes such as H Biblical Interpretation also have required summer work. Please see summer reading details below and order the appropriate book(s) for your student.
TECHNOLOGY
All students should receive an FBCA school email account and instructions regarding technology requirements during the summer. Students will learn how to log in to their email, Blackbaud (our learning management system), and how to access the school’s wifi on their personal devices. All Upper School students will follow our Bring Your Own Device policy as directed by our IT department. Please review the policy at this link: FBCA BYOD Policy 2025-2026.
TEXTBOOKS
All textbooks are provided by the school except for summer reading novels and AP Exam Preparation books. AP Exam materials may be suggested for certain AP courses and, if required, this information will be communicated via the course syllabus given out on the first day of school.
UNIFORMS
Your Welcome Eagle Box will contain general information on required uniforms. Uniforms may be purchased from Risse Brothers at https://www.rissebrothers.com/. Students might also want to purchase spirit wear - FBCA outerwear apparel (worn any time) and school spirit shirts (usually worn on Fridays with jeans). Approved outerwear and spirit apparel can be found through the FBCA Spirit Store. Orders placed by July 9 will be available for pickup at the Back to School Fair on August 11. Please refer to our uniform guide here: https://bbk12e1-cdn.myschoolcdn.com/ftpimages/1241/misc/misc_234066.pdf
Additionally, there is a FBCA Uniform Resale Group on Facebook for those families interested and a Facebook group for families interested in creating or joining a carpool.
REQUIRED SUMMER READING
Fort Bend Christian Academy requires all students in grades 9-12 to participate in a Summer Reading program for English classes and some other courses. Students are expected to acquire and read the texts assigned for the course in which they have been placed. All assigned reading will be assessed at the beginning of the school year, though the method of assessment may vary. Students may have projects, tests, quizzes, or essays depending on the book, course, and instructor. No specific editions of the books are required, but abridged versions, including adaptations or graphic novel versions, are not approved. Printed copies of the texts are required.
*11th and 12th grade students who selected English Seminar courses will receive an email with their approved fall course selections. Students should refer to that email in order to acquire the appropriate required reading.
