Pam Bell has taught ASCI award-winning Middle School artists at FBCA for 15+ years. “We detail God’s wonder, achievement, purpose and plan,” explains Mrs. Bell, “We examine small details like eyelashes and their purpose.” The students learn to view God’s patterns and elements as they draw in Black & White and Color, do watercolor paintings, printmaking, clay sculpture and acrylics. Mrs. Bell is excited that both seventh and eighth grade classes will expand their talents as the Middle School now has the opportunity to use the ceramics studio.

"I enjoy teaching students about Visual Art and it's connections to our world. It is my intention to provide a welcoming environment with individual attention and creative expression," said Ms. Costner. "In my classroom, students are provided a framework to improve their art making and communication skills while learning about how other artists have responded to 'thinking critically'". Students have art making options and are encouraged to pursue projects that are personally engaging and challenging. Ms. Costner teaches Art I, Art II, and Art III. She also teaches Art III and Art IV Honors courses.

Dottie Kemp

Dottie Kemp, Music Teacher | FBCA

Dottie Kemp teaches music to FBCA’s third and fourth graders. “I always want to represent Christ well, and teach my students that music is a great avenue of praise,” said Mrs. Kemp.  Her students participate in annual musicals, as well as perform at celebrations such as Veterans’ Day and the Elementary Convocation. Students work on sight reading, clapping rhythms, composer studies, and a wide array of music and musical styles while in Mrs. Kemp’s class.



Aaron PerezAaron Perez, Director of Bands | FBCA

Director of Bands, Aaron Perez, teaches Symphonic Band (8th-12th Grade), Concert Band I & II (6th and 7th Grade), Beginning Band (5th Grade), and Guitar I & II (7th and 8th Grade). He also teaches Pep Band (7th-12th Grade) during Football season and assists Mr. Howard Young with the Middle School Praise Team. The FBCA Band performs in a variety of outlets such as FBCA Varsity Football games, Pep Rallies, Veteran's Day concerts, Christmas concerts, Chapels, The Arts Festivals, and Spring concerts. Mr. Perez is very proud of the FBCA Band program. The Band is a consistent competitor in The Arts Festivals receiving multiple Division II, Division I, 1st Place, Outstanding in Class, and Grand Champion awards. The Band has also, as of 2015, placed High School students in the TPSMEA All-State Band.

Robert SandersRobert Sanders, Art & Photography | FBCA

High school teacher and department chair Robert Sanders teaches Photography 1 and 2, Graphic Design, Art 3 and 4 Honors (Ceramics, Jewelry Making and Sculpture classes also fall within the 3 and 4 levels), and an AP Studio class for students who invest a full year in working on one chosen artistic medium. Mr. Sanders believes his investment in the students inside and outside of the classroom helps to develop the student-teacher relationship that he desires. “Having a good relationship with my students helps them to achieve and discover their personal gifts,” said Robert. He is very proud of the art team, 5-time 4-A State Art Champions, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015.
