Matthew Pozzi was named the Class of 2019 Valedictorian and Tolu Asade was named the Class of 2019 Salutatorian.
Matthew has attended FBCA for 14 years, since pre-kindergarten, making him a designated "lifer." He plans to attend the University of Southern California to major in Mechanical Engineering and minor in 3-D Design. Mr. Pozzi was offered about $90,000 a year in scholarships.
"I want to thank my mom, for always helping me be better and do better, no matter what," he said. "Thank you to my dad and siblings, who always helped me laugh and worry less about school."
The salutatorian, Miss Asade, has attended FBCA for seven years. She plans to attend MIT and double major in civil engineering and theatre. Both the Val and Sal have been actively involved in the FBCA theatre program.
"Find something that makes you happy, so that when things get stressful (and they will get stressful), you have somewhere to relieve that stress," she said. "For me, that was theatre, and if I didn’t have that, I wouldn’t have been able to stay sane long enough to make it through high school with the grades that I made."
