FBCA Senior and AP Art Student, Seth Warren, Honored in the 2021 NAHS/NJHS Juried Art Exhibition

Zoe Zamora
Congratulations are to Fort Bend Christian Academy student Seth Warren. His 3D art piece titled Orbit was accepted into the 2021 National Art Honor Society/National Junior Art Honor Society (NAHS/NJAHS) Juried Exhibition.
“The idea of floating in orbit and space comes to mind when looking at this piece, which is shown through the floating back of the chair and multiple plateaux, craters, and metal spheres,” shared Seth in his artist statement. “The idea of rotationally symmetric 3D shape of the 2D surface in the design of a chair.“

The exhibition received 1,187 submissions, but only 93 works have been selected for show. Representatives from eight member schools of the Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design (AICAD) participated as jurors: Burren College of Art, College for Creative Studies, Emily Carr University of Art + Design, Laguna College of Art & Design, Maryland Institute College of Art, Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and Parsons School of Design.

FBCA is incredibly proud of Seth and all of the students who submitted their work. Thank you also to Robert Sanders, FBCA Fine Arts Director and Fine Arts Teacher, and Ryan Baptiste, Fine Arts Teacher, for helping their students express themselves through art.

*In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, NAEA has transitioned to a completely virtual exhibition for the safety of all.

The virtual exhibit opens on Monday, January 11, 2021, at https://www.arteducators.org/opportunities/naea-studio-gallery-exhibitions/current-exhibitions.
