Fort Bend Christian Academy Names New Head of Lower School

Zoe Zamora
Fort Bend Christian Academy is excited to announce Tamara Polvogt as the new Head of Lower School.
Tamara began her career teaching junior high English classes. She then transitioned to teaching elementary school. During her years in the classroom, she assisted with curriculum development and policy revisions.

She received both her MS in Education and her Masters in Educational Administration from the University of Houston.

Her love for private Christian education landed her at Second Baptist School in Houston, Texas, for a decade. She implemented several innovative instructional methodologies in the Lower School and collaborated with the executive team in developing a multitude of all-school initiatives.

Most recently, Tamara served in Colorado as the Director of Middle School at Cherry Hills Christian School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.

A visionary, Tamara skillfully unites team members in best practices to meet students’ needs socially, emotionally, academically, and spiritually. Her vast experience with various ages of children gives Tamara insight regarding students’ developmental benchmarks and discernment to team with parents in training children socially, emotionally and spiritually. More than anything, Tamara loves the Lord deeply and people passionately. The integration of a Biblical worldview in day-to-day instruction and proactively teaching children about Jesus are top priorities.

“I’m so grateful for the privilege to be a part of the family at Fort Bend Christian Academy, and I’m looking forward to developing relationships with families.” - Ms. Tamara Polvogt

“Ms. Polvogt has been described as an experienced and empathetic leader, keen listener and mediator, eloquent speaker, and detailed and efficient organizer, and I strongly believe that she will be an influential division head as she serves in this critical administrative position at FBCA. I am most confident that God will use Ms. Polvogt to serve and lead at FBCA in ways that enrich the lives of our lower school community and ultimately glorify Him.” - Mr. Joshua Gettys, FBCA Head of School
