Christopher Moore is a Biblical Interpretation Teacher in the Upper School Theology Department at Fort Bend Christian Academy. New to the Eagle Community this year, Mr. Moore brings a new level of energy and knowledge to the classroom.
After getting his B.A. in Political Science from Austin College, he went on to receive his M.A. in Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary. He now uses his love for Christ in the church and classroom. While being a full-time teacher at FBCA, Mr. Moore is also a full-time pastor at New Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Houston, Texas.
“Getting back into the classroom was a desire of mine, but the right opportunity hadn't come along yet. Thankfully, the Lord allowed mine and FBCA's paths to cross. I couldn't be happier to be here,” shared Mr. Moore.
The very moment he stepped on the campus of FBCA, he knew he had found himself a teaching home. We are now nine weeks in, and Mr. Moore is solid in his position. He is delivering captivating lectures, leading by example, and developing great relationships with students and fellow teachers.
“I know for a fact that this is the place that I'm supposed to be,” Moore said.
The best parts of his days happen when he least expects it. Whether it be in the hallway or lunchroom, Mr. Moore makes it a priority to be approachable for his students. One benefit of the academic experience at FBCA is the small class sizes, where Mr. Moore sets aside time to learn about his students and understand what they want to learn from him.
“I love those informal moments when I'm not standing before the students teaching; just having the opportunity to relate to them outside of the teaching moment is golden to me,” Moore said.
Mr. Moore has been a light on campus since his first day! He inspires students to pray with meaning, to talk to one another with compassion, and to seek Christ in all that they do.
“I pray daily for the staff and students of FBCA that we would be safe and glorify God in all of our efforts. I would encourage everyone within the FBCA community to make the most of the opportunity that we have to represent the Kingdom in such unprecedented times,” Moore said.
Mr. Moore also has a family of his own. He is married to his wife, Faith, and is the father of daughter, Paityn, 12, and his newborn son, Grayson.
FBCA is very grateful to have Mr. Moore on staff and helping to guide our Theology students on their journey with the Lord!
