We are embarking on another extraordinary year at FBCA.  Since the first day of school, we have welcomed over 800 students to campus, which is the highest enrollment at FBCA in over five years.  Our exceptional faculty and staff have been praying for every student and working diligently to ensure they feel known and loved while experiencing an excellent Christ-Centered education.  

As we launch the 2022-2023 academic year, FBCA is deeply rooted in our mission to “glorify God through excellence in college preparatory Christian education.”  Around campus, you will quickly notice a number of changes - new personnel, updated facilities, technological advancements, and strategic enhancements to our academic programs - all of which add value and will help to further the experiences of our students and families and advance FBCA as the premier Christian school in our region.  

 

As we enter this new school year, COVID-19 remains a threat to people in our area, state and nation.  Unquestionably, we are prepared to be flexible, and FBCA will continue to employ a number of health and safety protocols on campus.  At this time, FBCA will adhere to the recent guidelines announced by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) which permits students and staff who are exposed to COVID-19 to attend school unless they develop symptoms.  Additionally, any individual who tests positive for COVID-19 will be required to isolate from campus for five days.  Students or staff who test positive can return to school on Day 6 if they are no longer symptomatic or they have been fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing medications and symptoms are improving.  As always, FBCA will continue to review the needs of the school community, monitor local and state guidance, and the recommendations from the CDC, and make any necessary changes to keep our students, faculty and staff, parents and visitors as safe as possible.

 

Another important topic to address is school safety.  Unfortunately, we are all too familiar with the threat of violence in schools with the most recent school shooting happening within our own state.  Long before the most recent school attack, FBCA was actively involved in expanding and enhancing our campus safety and security.  In our time, campus safety and security can never be hypothetical in nature, and FBCA’s campus-security plans are a top priority and will remain so. 

 

Fort Bend Christian Academy never takes a complacent or passive stance about campus safety and security. There are already pragmatic policies and procedures in place designed to protect our students, faculty and staff. Over the past several years, the school has worked closely with police and other safety experts to assess and review our campus safety. The assessing and reviewing of our facilities and practices are ongoing.  I will mention that even since the tragic attack in Uvalde, Texas, FBCA has further enhanced and expanded our campus-safety measures. These immediate enhancements are part of a larger campus-security initiative by the Board of Trustees and the Executive Leadership team.  Additionally, we continue to work closely with the police officers who are employed by FBCA and present on our campus every day.

 

Central to Fort Bend Christian Academy is its mission to equip students to thrive spiritually, academically, socially, emotionally, and physically for the glory of God.  Our faculty and staff and I enter this year prayerfully and fully committed to the mission entrusted to us.  With relentless pursuit, we are dedicated to excellence in all of our expectations and endeavors, to equipping our students to think critically, lead courageously, and serve compassionately, and to preparing them to live flourishing lives and influence their communities for Christ.   

 

I am so grateful you have entrusted us to care for and teach your most valuable possessions.  This is a calling that I and our faculty and staff take seriously.  I wish you the very best school year, and I am excited to see how the Lord works in the lives of our students, staff, and families!  Go Eagles!
