FBCA Track Wins Gold at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays

Renie Deanda
FBCA Varsity Track and Field continues to dominate meets and grab attention of their competition as they make their way through the 2023 schedule.  This past weekend at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at the University of Texas - Austin was no different, as they push forward in hopes of repeating the 2022 Champion State Title.

Number Six in the Nation, the team went to the Texas Relays with their sights on some hardware. They accomplished that goal! They were even able to continue to break school records, a feat that has been occurring weekly for this powerhouse.

In the Division 1 Girls 4x400 Relay event, the Eagles (Gabbie Washington, Brooke Perry, Lilly Coppedge, Bayleigh Minor) blew past the competition and won first place with a time of 3:53.10.

In the D1 4x200, the Eagles (Brooke Coleman, Gabbie Washington, Brooke Perry, Bayleigh Minor) finished as the Runner-Up with a time of 1:39.37.

The Boys team also had a great showing with the Eagles (Ben Longbottom, Noah Brooks, Max Granville, Jordan Rodgers) breaking a  previous school record in the D1 4x400 Relays, where they finished with a time of 3:24.28 in the Preliminary round.

"On such a large stage for these athletes to show up and place - is something I knew they could do - they just had to believe and just go out and compete. And they did!," said FBCA Head Track and Field Coach, Deon Minor. "I have nothing but high expectations and goals for both boys and girls here at FBCA.  This group is special and very talented. I know they are going to meet those goals and exceed them! I'm looking forward to what is to come!"

With the end of District, Regionals and the State Meet coming up, we are sure to see more great things from these Eagles! Way to go!
