Seven Athletes Sign to Play Sports at the Collegiate Level

Fort Bend Christian Academy students and families gathered on campus on Tuesday, April 25, to celebrate seven outstanding athletes as they signed National Letters of Intent to play sports at the collegiate level. Three athletes signed to play football, two signed for Track & Field, and two athletes signed for baseball.

Noah Brooks has committed to run track for the University of Houston. He has been running track for six years, and this is his fourth year running at FBCA. Noah is a member of the Afterburners Track Club. Noah has been awarded FBCA Team MVP, five-time FBCA school record holder, two-time State Champion, two-time First Team All State, and two-time All American. His favorite memory from his time at FBCA was competing at the 2022 and 2023 Texas Relays. While at University of Houston, he plans to study Architectural Engineering. 

Matthew Brown has committed to play football at Wheaton College in Illinois. Matthew has been playing football for seven years and a member of the FBCA football program for all four years of high school. Matthew’s accolades include First Team All-District and Honorable Mention All-State. His favorite memory is the hit he made against Iowa Colony’s punt returner and beating Austin Regents, which ended their “perfect season.” At Wheaton, Matthew plans to major in Business.

Brooke Coleman has committed to run Division I Track at the Air Force Academy - Mountain West. Brooke has been running track for 12 years, and this is her fourth year running at FBCA. Brooke has received numerous awards during her time at FBCA. She has been awarded eight-time USATF All-American, 2021 TAPPS State Meet 1st Team All-State (4x200),  2021 TAPPS State Meet 2nd Team All-State (4x100), 2022 All State Honorable Mention (100 meters), 2022 1st Team All-State (4x200), 2022 2nd Team All-State (4x100), 2022 Academic All-State, 2022 Texas Relays (D1 4x200 Champions, 4x400 Runner-up, 4x100 3rd place team), 2022 TAPPS State Championship Team, 2023 Texas Relays (100 meter Finalist, 4x200 Runner-up), 2023 FBCA School Record Holder (4x100 & 4x200 relays), 2023 District Champion in the 100 meters (4x100 relay & 4x200 relay). Brooke’s favorite memory was winning the 2022 State Championship and running at the Texas Relays. During her time at the Air Force Academy, her goal is to compete at the NCAA National Championship and win a National Championship Medal. 

Cord Copley has committed to play Division I Baseball at Stephen F. Austin University. He has played baseball for 14 years, and this is his first season at FBCA. He is a member of Marucci Elite - Texas, a select baseball team. Cord has been awarded three-time All-District, All-State Honorable Mention, and Defensive District MVP. His favorite memory at FBCA is sweeping Lutheran South Academy. Cord plans to be a Pre-Health major with a focus in chiropractic studies. 

Clay Krisch has committed to play baseball at Cisco College. He has been playing baseball for 12 years, and this is his fourth year playing at FBCA. Clay has been awarded First Team All-District and Second Team All-District. His favorite memory at FBCA was from during his Sophomore year when FBCA was playing LSA and he was asked to take over as Catcher. In the final inning, bases were loaded, the batter hit the ball right back to the pitcher, the pitcher threw the ball to Clay, and he touched home and threw it to first to end the game. Clay plans to study Business at Cisco. 

Jackson Preng has committed to play Division III Football at McMurry University in Abilene, Texas. He has been playing football for ten years, and this is his first year playing at FBCA. In 2022, Jackson was awarded to Second Team All-District. His favorite memory is winning the State Championship and beating Second Baptist in the playoffs. Jackson plans to study Business and Sports Management. 

Aidin Rhodes has committed to play Division I Football at Texas State University. He has been playing football for six years, and this is his second year playing at FBCA. Aidin has been awarded First Team All-District and Second Team All-State.  His favorite memory is winning the State Championship in Football. Aidin plans to study Exercise Science at Texas State and earn a First Team All Sun Belt Honor in Football.

They are all extremely talented and make the FBCA community proud,” said Aaron Carpenter, FBCA Director of Athletics.  “We are very excited to see what lies ahead for these dedicated student-athletes as they continue at their respective universities.”
