FBCA Students Have a Great Showing at PSIA State Competition

On April 29, a group of Lower and Middle School students participated in the Private School Interscholastic Association State Competition at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. There was seven lower school and four middle school students who competed in various academic competitions.  Fourth grader Zara Ashiofu, a second time state participant, placed first in spelling! We are so proud of all of these Eagles and their desire to be challenged academically!


Lower School Participants
  • Westin Ward, 2nd grade spelling competition, participation 
  • Nathan Lee, 2nd grade spelling competition, 10th place  
  • Layla Hellman, 2nd grade creative writing competition, 4th place
  • Zara Ashiofu, 4th grade spelling competition, 1st place
  • Kendrick Bassey, 4th grade spelling competition, 3rd place
  • Molly Brennan, 4th grade poetry interpretation competition, participation
  • Elaine Xi, 4th grade ready writing competition, participation

Middle School Participants
  • Rachel Benjamin, 7th grade, 5th place in Spelling and Vocabulary
  • Cierra Spraggon, 7th grade, 7th place in On-Site Drawing
  • Paige Henley, 6th grade, State Qualifier Maps Charts and Graphs
  • JD Anderson, 7th grade, State Qualifier Modern Oratory and Vocabulary
