Welcome back! From FBCA Head of School, Joshua Gettys

As I write this letter, we find ourselves on the precipice of another extraordinary school year at Fort Bend Christian Academy.  In recent years, the FBCA school community has grown, and we have continued to advance the mission and vision of our beloved institution, continually making strides in all facets of our educational program and enhancing the experiences of our stakeholders.
As we launch the 2021-2022 academic year, FBCA will celebrate thirty-five years as an independent Christian school.  We are deeply rooted in our steadfast commitment to partnering with our school families and cultivating students to succeed academically, embrace biblical truth, and develop strong Christian character preparing them to live flourishing lives and to influence their communities for Christ.  We are committed to relentlessly pursue excellence for the glory of God in all of our expectations and endeavors, equipping our students to think critically, lead courageously, and love compassionately in all areas of their lives.

Over the past few months, our team of administrators, faculty and staff have spent a tremendous amount of time praying over your children and preparing for the upcoming school year.  We are so grateful you have entrusted us to care for and teach your most valuable possessions and this is a responsibility that we take seriously.  Around campus, you will very quickly notice a number of changes - new personnel, new and updated facilities, and strategic enhancements to our academic programs - all of which will help to further the experiences of our students and families and advance FBCA as the premier Christian school in our region.

As we enter this new school year, COVID-19 continues to be a threat to people in our area, state, and nation.  Unquestionably, we are prepared to be flexible and proactive should local conditions or any government or health mandates require us to pivot and modify our current plans.  At this time, FBCA will move forward with our plans to employ a number of health and safety protocols on campus, while resuming normal school operations.

FBCA will continue to review the needs of the school community, monitor local and state guidance, and the recommendations from the CDC, and make any necessary changes to keep our students, faculty and staff, parents and visitors as safe as possible.

Central to Fort Bend Christian Academy is its mission to equip students to thrive spiritually, academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. We believe our students are healthiest and happiest when they are in school and connected with their teachers and classmates.  We will strive to implement a plan that keeps our students and staff as safe as possible, and I encourage you to review the comprehensive list of health and safety protocols that will be implemented on campus this school year.  (These will also be posted and updated if necessary on the Health and Safety Protocol webpage.)

Our staff and I are entering this year prayerfully and expecting God to do extraordinary things in and through FBCA.  I am eager and excited to see you back on campus next week, and I wish you the very best school year!

With much excitement and appreciation,

Joshua Gettys, M.Ed.
