Ways to Give

There are a variety of ways to give to Fort Bend Christian Academy, one of the premier private schools in Sugar Land. FBCA strives to have 100% family participation in our Annual Fund Campaign and other giving programs. We are thankful to God and the many families, corporate partners, friends, alumni and grandparents who have graciously given sacrificial gifts to FBCA throughout the years. Your gifts have allowed our school to grow, remain strong and vibrant, and be competitive.

Donations may be made to FBCA as unrestricted or restricted gifts. Unrestricted gifts offer the highest form of philanthropy because they allow the school the most flexibility in how the funds are used.

Your gifts are always appreciated and may take the form of one or a combination of the following:

List of 5 items.

  • Cash Gifts

    Cash, checks and credit cards are the easiest and most popular way to make a gift to the school. Please make checks payable to Fort Bend Christian Academy. If you are paying by check, please note how you would like your gift to be used (i.e., Annual Fund, Booster Club, etc.)

  • Matching Gifts

    A matching gift to Fort Bend Christian Academy allows your gift to our school to double (and sometimes triple) in value. Many businesses and corporations have a Matching Gift Program to encourage philanthropic giving by their employees. A Matching Gift Program Form may be obtained from your employer’s Personnel/Human Resources Department.

    Please complete the employee portion of the form and mail to Fort Bend Christian Academy, Office of Advancement, P.O. Box 112, Sugar Land, TX 77487-0112.

    FBCA will complete our portion of the Matching Gift Form and send it directly to your employer’s matching gift administrator. Many Matching Gift Programs have specific restrictions regarding the award of a matching gift, so please read the form carefully and feel free to contact your HR Department and/or the FBCA Advancement Development Office, 281-263-9186, for additional information or clarification. Matching gifts may only be processed by the employer once or twice per year; we will notify you when the gift is received from your employer.
  • Memorial Gifts

    Giving a gift to Fort Bend Christian Academy "in honor of" or "in memory of" an individual is an important and special way to honor a special person in your life and bless our school at the same time. This gift of distinction may memorialize a loved one, celebrate a special event, acknowledge accomplishments, honor a special teacher/administrator, or celebrate special “milestones of life” such as graduation, a scholarship, etc. Naming rights opportunities are also excellent opportunities to honor a special person.

    A card of acknowledgment will be sent to the person you are honoring. Please include the following information with your memorial gift: the details in writing, amount of your gift, purpose of your gift (restricted or unrestricted), a daytime phone number and any other important information. If you wish your gift to remain anonymous, please include that information.
  • Gifts of Stock

    Fort Bend Christian Academy welcomes your gifts of stock. To wire transfer stock, please contact the Advancement Office, and we will give you specific information for your broker to complete the transaction. Please send an e-mail or letter to the Advancement Office confirming the date of the stock transfer, the name of the stock, number of shares, and fund designation (where you like the gift applied, i.e., Annual Campaign, unrestricted, technology fund, tuition assistance, etc.)

    Should you have actual stock certificates, please contact the Advancement Development Office, 281-263-9186, and we will arrange a convenient time to transfer the stocks to FBCA. An e-mail or letter confirming the date of the stock transfer, the name of the stock, number of shares, and fund designation (where you would like the gift applied) is also needed.
  • Legacy Gifts or Planned Giving

    Legacy Giving or Planned Giving allows a donor to make a gift commitment to Fort Bend Christian Academy, but to delay delivery of the final benefit of the gift until a later time. Donors who make planned gifts to FBCA may receive tax and/or income benefits. Some types of legacy or planned gifts result in lifetime incomes for the donor and/or other beneficiaries. Some may entail a reduction of income taxes, capital gains taxes and estate taxes.

    Donors may make legacy or planned gifts to FBCA in the following ways:
    • through a bequest, through charitable remainder trusts, gift annuities and deferred payment gift annuities;
    • by making FBCA the beneficiary and owner of an insurance policy;
    • through gifts of remainder interest in a personal residence, farm or other real property;
    • and through charitable income trusts.
    It should be noted that the laws governing such gifts are subject to revision and it is therefore extremely important to have up-to-date information on tax consequences.

    Legacy or Planned Giving is a very important, and yet often underutilized way for a person or family to provide for FBCA’s future stability and legacy. Including FBCA in your will is another way to ensure future generations have the opportunity to receive a college preparatory Christ-centered education. Your gifts ensure a strong and vibrant future for FBCA, one of the premier private schools in Sugar Land.
